HOPCALITE:
A Brown/ Black, granule composed of a manganese dioxide (MnO2) based catalyst that oxidises carbon monoxide (CO) in breathing air to the more tolerable carbon dioxide (CO2). The CO2 can then be adsorbed and removed according to the relevant International Breathing Air Standards for outlet concentrations. Use Hopcalite whenever:
- The quality of your air intake is questionable, ie. in metropolitan/ industrial areas etc., or
- The compressor operating conditions are marginal causing it to run hot or pump for extended periods.
NOTE: Hopcalite is deactivated by moisture, so it must
always be placed after the desiccant dryer in the
filtration train.
