As a Grade XY replacement filter element it holds the contamination its housing is placed to catch, rated at 0.01 µm. In service it sits in the position the original element occupied. Taking that load out early keeps the finer stage behind it working to its rated life. The element is built to the original dimensions and needs no modification to the housing.
