As a Grade P25 general purpose particulate element it holds bulk solid debris and pipe scale, rated at 25 µm. In service it sits as the first line of protection in the train. It is the cheapest protection in the train and the first to earn its keep. Dimensions follow the original, so it installs into the existing housing without modification.
