As a Grade XY replacement filter element it holds the contamination its housing is placed to catch, rated at 1 µm. It sits in the position the original element occupied. Clearing this load first protects the dryer or carbon stage that follows. Dimensions follow the original, so it installs into the existing housing without modification.
