It is a Grade X general purpose coalescing element and removes oil aerosol, water and solid particulate from the air stream, rated at 1 µm. It sits as the first coalescing stage, ahead of a dryer or a carbon tower. Removing the bulk of the liquid here is what lets the downstream element do its job.
