As a Grade HC hopcalite element it converts carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide across a catalytic bed. In service it sits in a breathing air train, downstream of the coalescing and carbon stages. It sits where the safety case for the whole train rests. Dimensions follow the original, so it installs into the existing housing without modification. It is the element used in A105HC housings.
