It is a Grade 5 replacement filter element and holds the contamination its housing is placed to catch, rated at 5 µm. In service it sits in the position the original element occupied. Contamination stopped here does not reach the equipment behind it. Dimensions follow the original, so it installs into the existing housing without modification.
