It is a Grade P5 general purpose particulate element and holds bulk solid debris, pipe scale and rust, rated at 5 µm. In service it sits at the front of the filtration train. It is the cheapest protection in the train and the first to earn its keep. It matches the original on dimensional fit and drops into the existing housing without modification.
