As a Grade YSR replacement filter element it holds the contamination its housing is placed to catch. The element belongs in the position the original element occupied. Air leaving this stage is clean enough for instrument work and for a carbon tower to polish. Dimensions follow the original, so it installs into the existing housing without modification.
