The element is a Grade HC hopcalite element, and converts carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide across a catalytic bed. It sits in a breathing air train, downstream of the coalescing and carbon stages. It sits where the safety case for the whole train rests. It matches the original on dimensional fit and drops into the existing housing without modification.
